FROM THE COLLECTION OF HERMANN STINNES, WITH HIS MONOGRAM STAMP (Lugt 4436) in the lower left margin of each etching, and his annotations in the lower right margin of each etching. Stinnes was one of the great collectors of German and French prints executed between 1875 and 1925 (he accumulated over 200,000 sheets), and his precise notes exemplify the scholarly approach he took to collecting.
