Otto Mueller: Knabe zwischen Blattpflanzen (Boy among Leaves). 1912. Woodcut on Japan paper, 27.8 x 37.5 cm (block), 35.2 x 50 cm (sheet). Posthumous, chalky and rich impression by Maschka Mueller (the artist's widow) after 1945, emphasising the wood grain, with the later added (erroneously horizontally mirrored) monogram, but before the notches in the block margin resulting from the mounting and later removal of the block from a cabinet have been repaired. The crack in the right-hand margin of the block, on the other hand, has been blackened over with printing ink. Reference: Karsch 2 / II A
