The fundamental theme of this image is the possible logical evolution, and its visual consequences, of a simple geometrical figure.
I drew a square perimeter in space. Then I divided the internal area into four equal rectangles arranged in rotation outside the said perimeter. This space was thus transformed into full-positive surface, red in color. I observed the figure produced and once again considered the new delimited space, empty-negative, as a potential positive surface. Consequently I produced the third figure, the result of the organization of the minimum encumbrance of that surface, black in color. This in its turn involves another void which, added to the previous one, permits the return of a regular geometrical figure: an enlarged square, full-positive surface which is gold in color.
