Marcel Vertès — Maisons… (1925)
Complete portfolio of 12 original lithographs
Éditions Pellet, Paris, 1925 — Album sur vélin
A complete and well-preserved copy of Marcel Vertès’ Maisons…, published by Éditions Pellet in 1925, containing twelve original lithographs mounted in their original passe-partout sheets, together with the lithographed title page, text leaves and the justification du tirage.
Printed in a total edition of 100 copies on Chine (each plate signed and numbered) and 900 copies on vélin, with the engraved signature. This example is from the vélin issue, with the full set of plates corresponding to the original Pellet publication.
The portfolio retains its original Boichot folder, complete with interior flaps, and all lithographs remain in excellent condition, showing the characteristic Vertès line and the brothel-themed imagery for which this series is renowned. The sheets are clean, crisp, and well-preserved, with no losses or trimming.
A fine example of Vertès’ early erotic graphic work, rarely found complete, especially with the original justification leaf and full suite of lithographs in matching condition.
